Southern-style Peach cobbler

  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • tsp baking powder
  • 1 stick butter melted
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can canned peaches 29oz.


  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Melt the stick of butter in a casserole dish, while you're preheating the oven.
  • While the butter is melting In a large bowl, combine the self-rising flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Mix well.
  • Add the milk and vanilla. Mix all of the ingredients together. The batter may look thin and possibly lumpy.
  • Pour the batter into the casserole dish over the melted butter.
  • Place the peaches and syrup on top of the batter. Do not stir. The batter should rise to the top.
  • Sprinkle liberally with cinnamon or a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  • Place in the oven at 350° for 50 minutes.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of icecream or whipped topping.
